Navigating Burnout: A Personal Journey to Restoration
Feb 14, 2024Hey there beautiful woman,
I'm thrilled to connect with you and share a bit about my journey from burnout to restoration. If you're a woman feeling drained and burnt out, trust me, I get it. Been there, done that, and now I'm on a mission to guide others through the same transformative process.
We're a tribe of resilient women, aren't we? We tackle life head-on, giving it our all. We hustle, we grind, and for a while, it seems like the hustle is working. But deep down, we know it's not sustainable. We push and push until we find ourselves at a breaking point, with nothing left to give. That's where my story begins.
Picture this: bedridden for a whole year. Yeah, a year. I ignored the warning signs my body was sending until it became impossible to carry on. It took a lot of reflection, a surrender to my healing crisis, and some necessary life changes. It wasn't a walk in the park, but it was crucial, and I did it.
And here's the thing – you can do it too.
My own journey birthed a passion for helping fellow women find their way out of burnout. I picked myself up, dove into healing modalities like counseling and yoga, and started assisting others teetering on the edge of burnout.
Flashback to 2013, that's when my therapeutic journey officially kicked off with Family Therapy training in Melbourne. I started working with women facing burnout, trauma, and chronic illness. Witnessing the health crises in their lives inspired me to create a women's restoration yoga program, a space for healing and rejuvenation.
But it didn't stop there. I was invited to work with women and children in shelters, crafting therapeutic programs in yoga, gardening, and cooking. It was profoundly rewarding, and I felt like I was making a difference.
Therapy and yoga turned out to be a dynamic duo, especially when it came to supporting individuals through physical health challenges and emotional distress. This realisation led me to dive even deeper into the world of mental health counseling, Mental Health Aware Yoga training, complex trauma, somatic therapies, and recently, Art Therapy.
And here I am, holding a therapeutic space for those navigating emotional and mental distress. It's been an extensive journey of study, personal healing, and guidance from seasoned professionals. The space I provide is a safe haven for self-exploration, transformation, and validation.
Now, let me share with you the restorative approach I bring to support women on their healing journeys:
1. Counselling and Somatic Therapy: A blend of mind and body healing, addressing the roots of distress.
2. Yoga Therapy: Unleashing the power of yoga to nourish not just the body but also the mind and soul.
3. Women's Circles and Cacao Ceremonies: Creating a sacred space for connection and healing among women.
4. Women's Restoration Yoga: A specialised program designed to rejuvenate and restore, because self-care is not just a buzzword; it's a necessity.
When I'm not immersed in my private practice, you'll find me tending to my veggie garden or soaking in nature on my property in the Barossa Valley. Exploring walking trails, savouring nourishing cafes, and practicing yoga are my go-to ways to recharge. Life is full of blessings, and there's always something to be grateful for.
So, if you're feeling the burn, know that there's a way through it. Let's embark on this journey together – from burnout to restoration. You've got this.
With love and restoration,
Kate X
