The Held Practice:

How the Membership Works

Who this space is for

The Held Practice is for diploma-qualified counsellors in Australia who:

  • Work in private practice or on the frontline in regional and community settings
  • Hold complex work, often without the level of peer support they’d like
  • Know what it’s like to feel professionally isolated
  • Sometimes question themselves, even though they care deeply and work ethically
  • Feel unsettled by shifts in the professional landscape and evolving national standards
  • Want to grow with confidence, not fear
  • Are committed to creating safe, attuned and ethical spaces for their clients

You don’t need more pressure.
You need a place where you feel steady, supported and seen.

What I hold this membership for

The Held Practice is a trauma-informed, nervous-system-aware, peer-led supervision community.

My intention is to support you to move from feeling overwhelmed or uncertain to feeling confident, attuned and effective in your client sessions, grounded in your body, your ethics and your professional identity.

Inside this membership, we focus on:

  • Nervous system regulation for the practitioner
  • Attuned presence and relational safety
  • Trauma-informed peer group supervision
  • Ethical clarity and reflective practice
  • Recognising the brilliance you already bring
  • Learning to relax into the counselling room
  • Clarity around what actually matters in your professional development

How This Membership Works

 Two Live Circles Per Month

Peer Group Supervision Circle

This is the heart of the membership.

You’re welcome to bring:

  • case reflections
  • ethical questions
  • moments of uncertainty
  • client dynamics
  • professional dilemmas

Rather than micromanaging details, I guide supervision through themes, patterns and nervous-system awareness, helping you feel more grounded, capable and clear in your work.

Connection & Integration Circle

A softer, reflective space to integrate what’s emerging.

This circle supports:

  • grounding and somatic awareness
  • reflective practice
  • shared presence
  • silence tolerance
  • professional identity development

Monthly Co-Creation

At the beginning of each month, you’ll be invited to share what’s alive for you in your work and practice.

This helps shape:

  • the focus of the circles
  • the supervision themes
  • the resources shared that month

You’ll also receive 1–2 practical resources each month, short and usable tools designed to support your work without overwhelming you.

Community Connection  Between Circles

Between our live peer group supervision circles, you’ll be invited to join a closed, private Facebook group.

This space is for:

  • gentle connection with peer counsellors
  • sharing reflections and resources
  • feeling less alone between supervision sessions

The group is intentionally held as a supportive peer space.

As the membership grows, the community space will evolve with care and intention.

Our Story

This community was originally created as the Diploma Counselling Society by Dr Brooklyn Storme, to support diploma-qualified counsellors navigating a changing professional landscape.

After three years of nurturing this space, Brooklyn entrusted me with holding the next chapter.

I honour the heart of what this space has always been, while deepening its focus on embodied peer supervision, nervous-system awareness, confidence in practice and professional identity.

About Me

I had the honour of serving as a Team Leader within a Therapy Program at a not-for-profit organisation, where I facilitated peer group supervision for newly graduated counsellors stepping into therapeutic roles for the first time.

My role involved mentoring, holding space, and gently guiding them through the very real challenges of early practice - especially in the context of complex trauma work. A big part of this was supporting counsellors to develop self-regulation skills - not only in the therapy room, but also within the relational and systemic dynamics of a busy, evolving, and challenging organisation.

It was a privilege to witness their growth, help them trust their instincts, and hold space for the kind of practice that grows slowly and deeply over time.

I hold supervision space with warmth, steadiness, and deep respect for the emotional labour, nuance, and ethical care that counsellors bring to their work every day.

My approach is grounded in:

  • Trauma-informed practice

  • Nervous system awareness

  • Somatic and relational attunement

  • Reflective supervision

  • Lived experience across both frontline and private practice

I hold an ACA Supervision qualification and offer supervision as a collaborative, co-regulated process - one that honours your pace, your voice, and your professional identity.

It’s a space for reflection, growth, and the quiet strengthening of trust in your own way of working.
